Cookies

There is one cookie. That's the whole story, but here are the details.
The one we set
yak_session — set after you sign in, on yaks.app and the
addresses under it, so your apps know it's you. It holds a signed note
saying which person you are and when it runs out, and it lasts thirty
days. It's ours and first-party: it goes nowhere else, and it isn't
used to follow you around.
Clear it and you're simply signed out. Refuse it and you can't stay signed in — there's no other way for us to know you between one page and the next.
What we don't set
No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, nothing belonging to anyone else. Cloudflare, who host this place, may set a cookie of their own to tell people from bots; that's a security measure and it isn't used to build a picture of you. The visitor counting they attach uses no cookie at all, and we're switching it off regardless — the privacy policy has that note.
Apps built here
An app in a yaks.app space rides on that same one cookie and asks nothing more of us.
Asking about it
hello@yaks.app, any time.
